I have been getting complacent. My weight had remained stable for a long time, and my doctor told me to ignore the BMI (which says I'm obese) and just keep on doing what I'm doing. So I did, and didn't even bother to weigh myself, but now I see I have been gaining weight. The Spark counselor told me to get off the flexible Food Tracker (the one that increases the calorie range depending on the amount of exercise you get) and go on the original Tracker and limit myself to 1500 calories/day.

I am exercising six days a week and tracking my food, and consistently eating below the low range of the Tracker. However, it was explained to me that I walk so much that my body has become very efficient with this amount of exercise, that I am in reality not burning up too many calories. So...limit 1500/day.

My lab reports are consistently good. I have a lot of energy--seldom feel tired so I'm not in that bad of a shape. I just do not want this weight gain to get out of hand.

My Goals:
To stay healthy, eat better, and have some fun.

My Program:
I do stretches every morning, and I walk 6 days/week. I walk with the Volksmarchers (ava.org), some friends 1X/week, and meetups (info@meetup.com). I'm on SP's 10K/day team, which is very motivating. I have started back with WT at Gold's Gym.

Personal Information:
I have always lived in St. Louis. I've been married for 30 years to Gordon, a very patient man. We have two adult children and two grandsons, 22 and 9, who live in Albuquerque. I retired from teaching high school, but then helped a friend at her preschool for 3 years. I am very much enjoying retirement.

Other Information:
Favorite TV shows: The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, John Oliver, Bill Maher, Samantha Bee's Full Frontal, and Stephen Colbert's Tonight. We obviously like news satire.

Favorite books: The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel, Blue Highways by William Least Heat Moon, The Help by Kathryn Stockett

My niece's mother in law started having seizures years ago and they figured it out was the aspartame she was using! She stopped using it and the seizures went away. That is something, huh?
Yeah, aspartame was on the list that causes symptoms, but never knew it would cause you to pass out. I passed that information on to a spf who is having such a problem and the Dr.'s couldn't figure it out.
Glad you liked the pics. Maybe one day, you can post a blog with some pics. I can only keep trying to get you to do it. Forgive me...but, you go to such interesting places!! emoticon

I'm glad you went ahead and walked! Some days I don't feel like it either, but I'm always glad when I do! Have a great rest of your week!

I just bought a box of 72 Cra-z-art pencils at Walmart for $5.97 and I love them. I hate the Crayola ones I have, the lead is always breaking or sharpening them is problematic. They break then too. These are vivid colored ones too.
