I'm in the planning stage right now, but 2017 will be my year to lose weight and become more fit. I will eat healthier and move more. I dare myself to do it. I want to live bold!

I've joined the 5% Winter Weight Loss Challenge. My first goal: lose 13 pounds in 8 weeks.

My motivation: to live a more active life. Right now, I don't dare to kayak. I have so much trouble getting up and down off the floor -- getting in and out of a kayak wouldn't be a good idea -- but this summer, I want to be able to kayak with my sisters. I want energy and muscles to bicycle ride and hike too. I'd love to try the exercise class where they suspend you from the ceiling like circus stars. That one might not happen, but it's fun to dream!

Remember the opening song on the Mary Tyler Moor show (1999)? "You can have the town, why don't you take it. You're going to make it after all." Hat thrown in the air. That's my theme song for 2017.
