Dreaming in the desert ...

I share my home and life with 4-footed friends - 2 cats (Starkist & Shadowspawn), & 3dogs. My little dogs are smallest dogs I''ve ever had - Shalako the Pomeranian, Samurai the Papillon, and Spartacus the rescued chihuahua (also known as "the little weasel"). We''ve been walking about 30 minutes to 2 hours daily.

I got the lap-band surgery in Nov 06. So far, I''ve lost over 120 pounds (3/9/10). Recently changed my end goal to even less. (155). Sigh ...

I''m an RN and work 12 hour night-shifts - boy, does that throw your metabolism off! I have things planned in the daytime for my days off, and have to sleep in the daytime on work days. All the tips for improving sleep say "set a routine and stick to it". Uh, huh - that''ll work.

Finally made 2 separate week weigh-ins of less than 175 - yeah! 3/14/13

Get in shape so my knees don't keep stressing.

Guess I'd better give up on retiring any time soon!

My Program:
Walking my little dogs every day. Throwing in strength exercises while I wait for the sniff breaks for them.

Thanks so much for the goodie (umbrella) it is much needed and I certainly used it yesterday (Sunday).

I'd gone to church (and it was raining when I got there) - so I used my handy-dandy umbrella while walking into the door.

At end of service, it was raining even harder, so I blissfully walked to my car, umbrella in hand, more or less nice and dry when I got into my car.

I then drove to Wal-Mart to buy groceries for a client, umbrella still in hand. Once out of the store, a bit more problematic: it was pouring and the rain was going in at a slant, so my back and front were somewhat damp.

Got to client's house and unloaded groceries, and got wet again.

But on the positive side, I would have been SOAKED if I hadn't had the brolly (British term for umbrella).

I did bring an extra t-shirt with me, but unfortunately, not an extra pair of pants (I'll do that today, Monday, because we're expecting rain through this Wednesday).

To console myself and cheer myself up, I was able to watch Roger Federer at the French Open. He won in straight sets: 6-3, 6-3, 6-4.

Hope your Sunday was better, and the coming week is WONDERFUL!

Annie

Yup - my sister and I were both born in May - 3 days and 3 years apart! Talk about planned parenthood, right? emoticon emoticon emoticon
