Dreaming in the desert ...

I share my home and life with 4-footed friends - 4 cats (Sahara, Shasta, Starkist & Shadowspawn), & 3 dogs. My 3 little dogs are smallest dogs I've ever had - Shalako the Pomeranian, Samurai the Papillon, and the newest one, Spartacus the rescued chihuahua. We've been walking about 30 minutes to 2 hours daily.

I got the lap-band surgery in Nov 06. So far, I've lost over 120 pounds (3/9/10). Recently changed my end goal to even less. (155). Sigh ...

I'm an RN and work 12 hour night-shifts - boy, does that throw your metabolism off! I have things planned in the daytime for my days off, and have to sleep in the daytime on work days. All the tips for improving sleep say "set a routine and stick to it". Uh, huh - that'll work.

Current Status:
DESERTDREAMERS I'm trying to stay up so I can sleep today (work tonight). Watching one of the worst movies I've ever seen - Night of the Lepus. Giant, carnivorous rabbits terrorizing Arizona. OMG!

My Goals:
Mini goal - I'm gonna bust thru 200 by the end of July!! DID IT!!! 7/13/09

Finally made 2 separate week weigh-ins of less than 175 - yeah! 3/14/13

Get in shape so my knees don't keep stressing.

Guess I'd better give up on retiring any time soon!

My Program:
Walking my little dogs every day. Throwing in strength exercises while I wait for the sniff breaks for them.

Personal Information:
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.
Groucho Marx

If man could be crossed with the cat, it would improve man but deteriorate the cat.
Mark Twain

I always like a dog so long as he isn't spelled backward.
G.K. Chesterton

Other Information:
I'm a reader. Can't go to the bathroom without book in my hand (even if I don't open it in the little room). Love my cats and dogs.

When you don't think the program will work, remember the motto: Try it our way for at least 6 weeks and if you are not satisfied we will gladly refund your misery

emoticon I'm surprised I didn't crack the lens emoticon
Pete took the pics but we had to have them professionally printed- I reckon the passport office is in league with printers for a fee- we could have done just as good a job on our home printer.
Had a struggle holding my head straight again yesterday but the results were an improvement on the original set- so here's hoping they're accepted.

Have a great weekend hun and thanks for all your visits to my page and blog emoticon

awesome! I thought in the theater I was the only one. lol.

and I was so bugged, because I was a die-hard new kids on the block fan, and one of them was the shooter, that I should've totally gotten that. (where is the big dork emoticon?)
