Begin ... the rest is easy.

I joined SP in January of 2010 at a weight of 330+ lbs because I was tired of not being able to do anything. I couldn't fit in the chairs at the movies, or ride a roller coaster, or even walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like I was going to die. In the last two years, I have lost over 130+ lbs using SP and an array of workouts. In the last two years, I have lost over 130+ lbs using SP and an array of workouts. What's even more amazing is the transformation I have seen in me as a person - I've become driven, hard working, an optimist, athletic, and most importantly, incredibly happy. While the numbers on the scale are a wonderful motivator, the feeling of truly being able to live with, and love myself far surpass the weight loss euphoria.

I am an ecstatic supporter of SP - if you work hard, stay positive, and ask for
support, you will succeed!

I fell in love with running in the summer of 2010. My younger brother is my biggest cheerleader - he is also my trainer/running partner. We have run almost every race together. For 2012, I am planning my biggest challenge yet - Tough Mudder.

"Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must; just never give up. "
Dean Karnazes, ultrarunner.

My Program:
I love to exercise, but hate the calorie tracking. I am learning to track what I eat. Food wise, I eat a lot of turkey, vegetables, fruits, whole grains and very little red meat. I gave up soda (diet too) in 2010. I drink a ton of water and tea.

As far as exercise, I like to switch it up. I have done Sweatin to the Oldies, Taebo, Turbo Jam and P90X in the past. I am currently on a Turbo Fire kick. I love to play sports - especially softball, volleyball, and ice hockey.

I just picked up p90X2 , so I am excited to start that in 2012.

If SP has taught me anything, it's the fact that losing weight is not just a physical battle. Your mind and heart have to be in it as well. The support system I have found on SP is profound. I have the most supportive family and friends in the world as well!! Support and motivation are the keys to success.

Personal Information:
I work full time.

I attend UWP as a full time student - majoring in English.

I am a volunteer firefighter/EMT.

Other Information:
I am an avid reader - I love Camus, Sartre, Wilde, Yeats, and Donne. Read any good books lately?

Hey there, Cindy!!
Are you still on here? It's been a very long time, since I've been on here, but now that I am back (after 4 years) you were the first person I remembered and was dying to chat with. You are truly amazing!! I hope all is well :) -Kate

I am feeling very "binge-y" this afternoon....so I was going through SparkPages to motivate me to stay on track, to stay focused on my goals, to remember that those are far more important than something that will taste good for a few minutes. Your page did the trick. As did the commentor below me who writes "No young woman should spend the best years of her life being fat." Thank you very much for that. You have done an amazing job...congratulations! emoticon
