Just Keep Moving Forward

My name is Samira. I'm 24 and work at a small women's college.

I LOVE to run and walk, but I have an unhealthy relationship with food. In 2014 I finished 7 half marathons and 1 marathon, but I also gained back the 40+ I lost. I'm rejoining this site with the hope of working on my addiction to food and creating a healthier relationship. I'd like to see the 100s this year.

In addition to running I enjoy crocheting and volunteering in the community. In 2015, I will be a Girls on the Run Coach. I am also currently registered for 2 marathons (May and November), a half marathon series in June (seven half marathons, seven days, seven states), and a few scattered half marathons throughout the year.

I'm breaking my weight loss into these goals.

My Program:
I currently have a personal trainer but can't afford to keep it up after June. I'm doing weights every other day or two and I am working on C25k slowly. I aim to walk at least 2 miles per day and go to a couple exercise classes a week.

Personal Information:
I'm a Chicago native and current Illinois resident, but my heart belongs in Milwaukee, WI. Go Marquette! I don't remember the last time I weighed less than 200 pounds. I feel defined by being fat and I want that to change. I want to get to a healthy weight and to be fit.

Other Information:
I love yarn. It's just so delicious. If I crochet fast, does it count as exercise?

emoticon once upon a little time ago a young woman boldly made her presence known on sparkpeople. She was busy, life and all didn't allow for her to pop back onsite. Well she had something to say about it all and one day- just as unexpected she blogged.

I'm waiting for her to finish typing in the details so I can read what she wrote.

I just read what you wrote on the Vlog you previously made. Love how you picked yourself up. You're really an inspiration in how you are able to quickly move in a positive direction. Isn't meet-up great? I belong to several hiking groups on meet-up. Keep Sparkin!
