Re-Writing 2013

Edith Lovejoy Pierce wrote We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. (Thank you EDWARDS1411 [Val] for the amazing quote)

I have an interest in keeping that passion for letter writing aflame, not because it means stationery or stamps stick around longer, but because it means we are still spending time on one another in a world where we move from thing to thing ...

Hannah Brencher

A year has almost come and gone. 2012 will soon be a faded memory. It will be a year of triumph for some and failure for others. I have not done what I should have this past year. I have maintained but have not lost anything else except in this past few weeks. I am going to be a different person in 2013. One with more determination than 2012. I can do this, I know I can.

I am not going to be the same person I was a year ago. I am not going to be standing in my own way, yet I am going to adopt ways in which I will enhance myself even more then in 2011. Each month I will write a chapter in my book about what the month has presented to me and how I have handled it.

My goals are simple. To do the best I can do in any given situation, which for me means taking time for myself every single day. I WILL NOT BE A SLACKER!!!

1.) I will continue to exercise consistently

2.) I will continue to track the foods I eat and learn from my mistakes, but most of all try not to make mistakes I have made previously.

3.) I will continue to drink at least 8 glasses, if not more, daily.

4.) I will continue to log on to Spark People and accumulate at least 75 points or more daily.

5.) I will become more active in the 4 groups that I belong to.

Donna, I'm keeping you in my prayers for a complete recovery from the right knee replacement surgery you had 5 - weeks ago. I hope your pain will ease as you participate in PT. Please know that I'm here for you. I'm embracing you in love and hugs from one sister in Christ to another. Have a blessed Tuesday.

emoticon After Surgery Prayer:

Blessed Savior, I thank you that this operation is safely past, and now I rest in your abiding presence, relaxing every tension, releasing every care and anxiety, receiving more and more of your healing life into every part of my being. In moments of pain I turn to you for strength, in times of loneliness I feel your loving nearness. Grant that your life and love and joy may flow through me for the healing of others in your name. Amen.
