IT IS SO PRETTY no matter what the weather, but in the winter,,,, to me it's peaceful though ICY !!! In 2014 most of the harbor DID Freeze over. It does happen though not every year. This is an active harbor year round. The lobster men are out,, some scallopers ,, other type of fisherman/woman along with an active port for oil delivery bought in by the tankers plus the local ferries which run unless the seas are very choppy or the wind is blowing towards hurricane speeds.
I live in Southern Maine. In the wintry it can get quite cold, snowy, icy. So if I'm outside for much time it's cold, I shiver often hard. Hence forth I'm a Dianesicle.
This past year has been very good as I put my knowledge together with my zeal. Now, none of us should be traveling alone on this. If you don't have much support in real life, PLEASE make friends on Sparks. Be honest with those. Holding back anything will not benefit us. Along this line is "TRACK EVERY MORSEL OF WHAT GOES INTO OUR MOUTH" No one expects perfection. We all lose, gain, lose gain.
In 2016 I did make my 5%weigh in loss during the Winter, Spring and Fall Challenges. I reach out, please do so. Blogging helps a lot. We do NOT need to sound profound. Even 2 lines is great!! All in all I lost 52 lbs in 16. I had started at 246, ending at 194. I face many challenges physically as do many traveling on the 5% teams, around 700+. If interested about this please ask me. I'm on the Spirited Under Dog team AKA Dawggies as the ML, Motivational Leader.
My goal is to from 195 down to 153!!! When you plan your weight loss out being reasonable . If you weigh 150 and wish to be 125it's not going to happen safely in 3 months. We also need to face "What caused my reaction to being comforted from food?" For myself and many others this does, has meant getting professional assistance.
Woohooo!! Shall I do enough exercise I sweat enough so I'm NOT a Dianesicle? Time will tell. My plan is to walk, do beginners yoga, heavy housework of 60-90 minutes a day doing this. I'm going to aim for an occasional 120 minutes. I had been working with a dietitian so will continue what we came up guidelines we set up. Very similar to Sparks, only my calories are between 1200-1550 with 80mgs of protein.

Being a part of the 5% challenge I'm aiming to lose just blah 9 lbs in 8 weeks. I have such a wicked sweet tooth of which I THOUGHT I had control, but over these past 5 weeks I now know I certainly do not. Easy, do NOT bring it into my place.
Thanks to other Sparklers I now have a variety of exercises I am adding into my routine.
Stay in my calorie range of 1250 to 1500 daily. NOT undah it, that's again not good for us, and we do not lose the weight. If I have a day I go over the 1500 that's FINE for the next meal I at once get right back onto my normal routine. Lets not be harsh upon ourselves. This is not a race, it's not a "diet" notice the first 3 letters? "DIEt" yeah no TY !! It is a lifestyle change ,, yes life style change,, for life. There will always be those special days for all of us, we will go over our calorie range. I'll hop right back down. It can take 2 weeks for the scale to reflect this, it's FINE. It DOES !!
KEEP up my 60 to 90 mins of exercise. Most walking the hallways now that I've had my left foot big toe amputated I am OUT of casts ! PHEW !! So very, very thankful i have my life back.

See that PURDY kitty to the left? That is Miss Izzy and she's such a sweet kitty gal !! Such a little lovey dovey kit katz !! When anyone comes in, I do let them know she will soon be up,,, she like all cats know though when someone isn't into her, and just ignores them. otherwise,, yup ! A true Lap cat !!

I am so soon to be a GREAT GRANDMA !! WOW !! I just found out a few hrs ago !! EXCITED TO THE MAX !! I am young. The GD is actually a friends child. My friend had her late in life, and she didn't (the child) have any Grammies, so we "adopted" each other through the heart when she was quite young. I am sooo fortunate in that I had a big part of helping to raise her. She's so precious to me. in turn I also became a Grandma to 3 others. Life is awesome. If you like me, didn't have children of your own, there are many children would so badly need guidance. Please look around,, if you belong to any organizations, please look into it. Also if you are over 55, there is the "foster Grandparent " program.

And thanks again for the message on my page! I actually find it motivating to do things to motivate other people! So in some way, that blog from before was a reflection of how I'm motivated to do something, (that I didn't wanna do), by doing it anyway and motivating someone else to do the same. I hope that makes sense!
I'm in no way in super good shape, I don't look like a super model and I get winded pretty quick if I even attempt to run. But I do feel strong mentally (of course with some off and sluggish days, but overall I feel strong) and I wish to pass that on to as many people as i can. I love being a dawgie and wish I could do much more to contribute to our miles.
We had some snow over the weekend, I think it's already starting to melt. the temperature went back up above freezing. So the kids will be disappointed, but I hate snow so I'm happy. I'm dressing layers and bundled up with a scarf, hot cocoa is constantly on my mind, haha!
Well today I showed up for work and realized I had the day off!! So I'm home and have an early start on the day. I think those dumbbells are calling my name! yay!!!!

Metabolism.... another area we covered in class... watch my blog. You will speed it up only as you add muscle.
TIP: Strength Train, muscle tissue burns calories because it is dynamic.... fat is blobby and sits there draining energy.
