Progress is a good thing.

I just get tired of trying and stopping and trying. I am tired of being 'on a diet'. I get resentful and rail against life because other people can 'eat normally' and have a life and why does mine have to be different.

Sometimes I get tired of being tired. Of feeling old. Of being limited in my body. I get tired of not 'fitting' places. I get tired of struggling to do basic daily tasks easily. I get tired of feeling deprived and out of it.

But I heard Tom Petty once say he was not going to bemoan getting old because the alternative was worse. (dying) And I have to keep thinking of this in those terms.

When I quit struggling, trying, failing, beginning again- then I won't be ABLE to do any of that. I'll either be dead or maybe I'll be in a care facility where people have to take care of me because I can't. And THAT alternative is far, far worse than being tired of trying.

2014: Modified paleo: Only meat, fish, beans, veggies and nuts. Limited dairy. No more than 20 g. carbs daily and aim for 100 g. protein daily. No sugar. Gluten free.
