Losing weight for the right reasons.

I have been with Sparkpeople since i turned 55. Thats 5 years in case you wondered when that was. I had lost weight 3 years ago for the wrong reasons, than I put it back on. I think about all the times I have lost weight over my lifetime and it was always when I was going through a bad time in my life. This is not good. Why cant I lose the weight because I am happy and just want to be happier with myself being healthier. Well today is the first day of a new start for me. I am fairly happy ...

I think about all the times I have lost weight over my lifetime and it was always when I was going through a bad time in my life. This is not good. Why cant I lose the weight because I am happy and just want to be happier with myself being healthier. Well today is the first day of a new start for me. I am fairly happy but could be alot happier if I could fit in a theatre chair better, fit between spaces that normal size people can fit through, or have to move aside because someone cant pass me because they cant get around me. Last year I fell down somewhere in public and it was a very hard concrete floor. it hurt so bad and when I hit the floor I could feel the impact that it made and it hurt all through my body. I dont feel good when I overeat and I know it before I eat that I will probably have heartburn.
Why am I telling you all this? I want to make a commitment to myself in front of others that I will starting today be good to my body, because it deserves to be taken care of. God gave us only one body and it isnt very nice we dont treat it like he wants us too. I come on here everyday and will read my sparkpeage to remind me to keep that commitment.

It is a slow process but on the long run if you make it part of your way of living, bad cholesterol will really go down and you will increase the good one. If ou are taking prescriptions from the doctor right now, you are to continue them.

Hi. Let me share with you how it is done in my family for a natural anti cholesterol remedy:
Every night add a tablespoon of flax seed to our dinner. It is first grinded on a coffee grinder or blended with a shake on the blender
Then, at your lunch, add a tbsp of peeled sunflower seeds to your salad or sandwich.
At night, you put one tsp of chia seed on four ounces of water. Let it set overnight and drink it when you get up. Water will have become a very light jelly drink and you can swallow the seeds effortlessly.
There you go!
