Discovering the New Me

I am a fifty-one year old single mother of one teenager, one young adult, a very spoiled Shih-Tsu, and two fat cats. My weight loss journey has been a rollercoaster ride. Most recently, I lost 25 lbs in 2013 by logging into Sparkpeople every day and tracking my food. Christmas threw me off track, and I have gained back my original weight plus an extra fifteen pounds. Time to turn it around!

Most recently, I lost 25 lbs in 2013 by logging into Sparkpeople every day and tracking my food. Christmas threw me off track, and I have gained back my original weight plus an extra fifteen pounds. Time to turn it around!

I recently had knee surgery for a torn meniscus and developed complications from physical therapy, so my challenge now is to start getting active again without causing further irritation to my joint.

Thanks for the compliment on my gazebo picture. My plot is 100 x 100 feet! LOL That includes the house, too. Have a great day.

I'm grabbing the reigns on my out of control wagon and getting myself back under control. Come with me now. We can start fresh together.

We live about 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Where your uncle lives I think is prettier. More country than where we are, but we do have a working farm about two streets down even though we live in the suburbs. The thing I don't like about where we live is the hills. In the middle of the state it is much more flat. I had a cousin live in Reading, which is probably somewhat near your uncle. No side affects from walking last night. No knees, no toe, good night sleep. Amazing... The kids are now working on the pool. It is getting there. We have had a good weekend with the kids, no fighting, no drama, which is unusual for all the different personalities we have here. All my kids are adopted. Two from the country of Ukraine 3 from the US. I couldn't have biological kids and here I am with 5, would have never thought. Well, enjoy the weekend. I "assume" that it is sunny there also. You usally get our weather before us.

I would love for you to do the Stress Buster challenge with me! It would be good to have a buddy. What I've discovered lately (since I've been thinking about it), is that since my retirement, my stress sources have totally changed. I still think I'm adjusting to retirement, and this is just another one of those transitional things.... emoticon
