Aloha - I'm DJ, a happily retired 63 year old Sparker of a few years, living on the Big Island of Hawaii, loving life, feeling blessed. Life Is Good! And, a healthy vibrant life (at any age) is BETTER! So, here we are just days away from the start of a New Year ...are you ready to join me and WELCOME 2017??? I ask myself (and maybe you might also) what will be different this year?
For me, the difference will require taking charge, making a true lasting change in my health and weight loss. To achieve this I will make good choices rather than repeat past poor behaviors and habits. It will mean applying and living all I have been learning in the past few years about health, nutrition, and exercise as well as exploring and BEING OPEN to learning and trying something new. Who knows? Maybe I've yet to find the best way to live in my most vibrant way.
I'm READY to get started!!!! I'm looking FORWARD to 'CHANGING FOR THE BETTER' in this new year!!!!!!! How about you? Ready? Let's get to it!!!!

My program is healthy LIVING! No counting, no tracking, no measuring ... just back to REAL foods, moderate daily exercise/activity, taking conscious time and effort to live life in a simple balanced way in all aspects - mind, body, spirit!!!!! and having gratitude for all things!

    Hi DJ,
    It's warmer than usual this Spring in central MN. Weather is inspiring to take long walks everyday. We have 2 gyms --- college and Y. At college I tried new fitness classes to get points & win a T-shirt. Some instructors have intense work-outs, I'm just glad that I did not hurt myself. We get points for a ST routine called Vital 11, my favorite since we can do it any time 7 days a week. I did 2 classes in a row to earn T-shirt next week before they run out. I will keep up with ST routine at college till it ends 2nd week of May. Then we will have a brand new Y opening in May. Everyone is excited about new pools, indoor track and ST equipment.

    Increasing exercise is good for the cardiovascular system. Although my weight is hovering around the same 5 pounds as my appetite also increases. Heart wins over the scale! emoticon emoticon
