Boston or Bust

I am now on my last 10 lbs!! I have had the dream of running the Boston Marathon for 10 years now. I am ready to really do it with the help of Spark People. I have to run a marathon in under 3 hours and 50 minutes to qualify. Every pound I lose speeds up my mile time by 2 seconds so those last 10 lbs are all that stands between me and accomplishing my dream. Boston or BUST :-)

I am thinking about doing a half in Montana in July. It coincides with the town's rodeo weekend which would entice the rest of my family to go. It finishes at the rodeo grounds and first and second place get belt buckles. I don't think a sub 2 hour will get me a buckle, but it's a pretty small race. The only thing that worries me is the heat. I am a northern Alberta girl and the heat really gets to me. This looks like it's along gravel roads in the country with no shade. I still have lots of time to decide- I usually start a half program around 9 weeks out.
Right now I'm just running for fun and sanity- I cut back on mileage and am adding 4 days a week of weights. Good change of pace for the body and mind.
