Hi, I'm 52 years old .. I'm married with two wonderful children who are both all grown up now. I have always struggled with my weight ever since I was a little kid. I've probably gained and lost enough weight throughout my life to equal 5 - 6 average sized people. I'd lose it one year, and the next year it would be back plus more. I'd lose it again, and it would come back again. However .. this time the weight has stayed with me for many, many years. I never made the changes permanent so when I'd go back to my normal ways .. my weight would come back as well and I have not been able to loss it again. I messed up my metabolism so bad and now I have to get it back and set right. I need to make some lifestyle changes that I can "live" with .. so that they become a part of the way I live, ... not a part of the way I "diet".

I've made it a point over the years, to make sure my family was always taken care of and they were my top priority, .. but in the meantime, I put myself at the bottom of my priority list without even realizing it, and I stopped takeing care of myself in the process. Well things have changed and I now have to make myself a top priority .. because no one else will. It's up to me to save myself. It's way overdue but better late than never, right? It's time for me to put myself as a priority & it's time for me to make some lifestyle changes that I can live with & make them a permanent part of who I am.

I use to be fairly active when I was in my 20's, with cycling outdoors (both long distance riding and short rides), walking, sailing, going to arobics & step classes where I use to work .. but I've become more sedatary over the years as the weight crept up the scale and I just didn't want to be seen because of how much I weighed or how red faced I got trying to do some sort of activity. I know it's going to be hard for me to make the needed adjustments to reach my goal & make them permanent, but I'm going to start slowly & keep at it. My sister has been sort of like my long distance pep-talk person. We live far apart but we're close in heart. She is also a member of this site and she loves it. So I've decided that this is my chance, .. my opportunity to get a more active, healthier life instead of letting life pass me by. I want to actually "LIVE my life" .. not "HIDE in it" anymore.

I can do this!! I just have to get going again .. and I will do this!!

My Goals:
I have decided NOT to look at the whole picture. I will made better choices, one day at a time and by doing that, ... the whole picture will come together by itself.

My Program:
I just started doing some Kettle Bell workouts. I really enjoy exercising with Kettle Bells and I think that will help me to stick with it. I also try to get in some walking at work and I ride my stationary bike once in a while too. And of course .. I make better choices every day regarding what I eat.

I use to think I couldn't live without peanut butter!! .. Guess what? .. I've found out that I CAN!! I still get an urge for it now & then, and I have some now and then .. but only once in a great while. I really LOVE Peanut Butter .. and I have found that I can still have some once in a great while .. and I am doing fine with that.
