I was so happy to finish! That time was the gun time so don't look at it. My chip time was 32:28





Finishing place of 227 out of 335. 21st out of 28 in my age group. Not bad for 1st 5k!!

So my son rubs my tummy and tell's me I need to start running again. What more motivation do you need than that when your 6 year old tells you it's time to exercise? Today is 1/5/2010 and I am writing this to remind myself what or shall I say whom is the reason I want to get healthy again for....My kids!

I basically took 2009 off using my newborn baby girl as the excuse as to why I didn't exercise. Told myself my wife needed me to be there for her to help out and all. While that may have been true to some extent there is no reason I couldn't have found the time to do what it is I know I need to do to get myself right. My son wants me to be healthy for him and daggum it I am going to do just that.

I finished this program on Sparks called C25K in late 2008 and felt so great in running a 5k. That is where I feel I need to start again this year. So let's see how it goes this time and Lord willing I will enjoy the same successses now that I did then. I'm looking forward to hearing from my fellow sparkers again whom always help motivate me.

My Goals:
New Goals as of 1/5/2010.

My 1st goal is to complete the C25K again.

Second goal is to run my 2nd 5K by Spring Break in March.

Third goal is to get back on the sparks page of those sparkers whom removed me during my sabbatical away from sparks.

My last goal is to do some sort of triathalon by year's end. I don't care how short or long it is as long as I get the shirt that says I completed it in 2010.



My Program:
My latest venture is to do another 5k by retraining for it so that I can break 30 minutes and then prepare for a sprint tri. I will start up and continue to play Tennis and softball as well.

Personal Information:
I am a father of 3 awesome kids and have been married for 10 years this coming April. I live in Corinth, TX and work in Mesquite.

Other Information:
My kids are my life. My son allows me to relive my sports youth thru him and I love it.

My 3 y.o. daughter is just now starting to endear herself to me and I think I going to be in trouble now.

My newborn daughter is walking now. I love coming home to her and never forget to enjoy the moments I get to spend with them while they are young.

Let's just be frank...I hate the C25K program, LOL! And no, I'm so not excited about week 5. Week 5 makes me want to gag!!! Did I tell you how much I don't like the running program? :) I had to buy me a Nike + sensor and sign up at running.com to track my runs (distance, pace, time, etc) just to make it a little more interesting for me, because other than that...I ain't enjoying it. emoticon

Thanks for hunting me down and shaming me into coming back. For some strange reason I can't seem to get my act together. Yes I did eat candy last night. I had peanut M&M's and now I'm wondering why. I have to get back on track. I want to start C25K again, your doing great and really inspiring me to want to get back to it. Thanks again and please keep checking on me.
