I started watching my diet closely 5 years ago. I tried the Gym until Gold's Gym bought out my membership and wouldn't give me the $2 per year renewal I used to have. So, I took up running. I had been running for a few years consistently. I was running 5 miles almost every day of the week. I lost a good deal of weight and my body LOOKED much healthier. Then, I hurt my back. Ever since it's been a struggle to do the exercise I love. I gave up for awhile. Then, I tried the treadmill with a platform that adjusts the softness. It's WORKING! I'm running for 45 mins, 5 times per week.

I have such a difficult time getting the weight off! I did manage to lose about 20 lbs over the past couple of years, then gained it back. Now I'm at a stand still. If I lose a couple of pounds my body fights back! It seems to know when I have cut back and is bent on putting it right back on. AHHHHH! It's driving me mad.

I would like to finally lose these 40 pounds.

HOWEVER, I'm changing my goal! I want to feel better, enhance my health (high blood pressure and developing arthritis) and look better in my clothes. :-) 1 lb of fat and 1 lb of muscle weight exactly the same but LOOK completely different, right! Therefore, what difference does the scale make if I were to weigh much less but still look and feel terrible?

Have you ever noticed people at the same height and weight as you all look very different than you? Skinny fat is not attractive. I have noticed that for my weight, I don't look too bad. I don't look obese, even though the scales says I am. I don't want to be buff or extremely muscular (body builder style). But, I don't work out like women who are either, so I doubt that is ever going to happen. But, I can look good, increase my BMR by adding muscle, eat right 80% of the time, enjoy some of my favorite foods on occasion, increase my energy level, etc.... that is my goal. Live life, not diet.

My Program:
Walking/run on treadmill 15 miles per week.

15 mins on recumbant bike 5 times a week.

Weight training 30 minutes 3 times per week. (mostly for upper body strength)

Control eating. Eat healthy complex carbs & lot's of protein... cut sugar! Low sodium as i just found out i have high blood pressure.

Keep calories 1200-1500 per day.

Personal Information:
I live in SLC Utah. I am 43, a wife and a mother of 2. Unfortunately I have a desk job and work from home. (can make you lazy)

I AM EATING ABOUT 1200 CALORIE I TRY BUT MOS LIKELY ITS FRUIT AND VEGGIE AND MEAT LOL
