The Journey

I have had many ups and downs with my weight in my life. Then I went to Weight Watchers and in 2009 I achieved my biggest loss ever. 154.6 LBS. I have kept it off mostly for 4 years now.

My weight started to creep up on me. So, here I am at Spark People. I made a few attempts to join before, but this one is serious.

Another important change that I made recently was to go vegan. There are so many good reasons to do this I think I need to blog about it.

I little about me. I love dogs, vegetables, learning more about history (especially British history), and travel. I also love motivational quotes.

emoticon Junk food satisfies you for a minutes....being fit, satisfies you for LIFE!

That craving for a bag of Doritos can be satisfied with the click of a vending machine button. But, the feeling after eating them might not be worth it.

Trade in that craving for a delicious fat-burning snack or workout session with your friend(s) for more long-term and healthier results.

emoticon Embrace your sore muscles! Know that every achy body part is becoming healthier and stronger. emoticon

emoticon Don't forget to stretch your muscles to help recover and gain more flexibility. emoticon

emoticon It never gets easier.....we just get better! emoticon

emoticon We know how hard it is to eat healthy all the time and stick to a workout plan. It's work! emoticon

But, the more you do something the easier—and more enjoyable—the moves become. The same goes for healthy eating. emoticon

emoticon You don't have to go fast.....you just have to go! emoticon

emoticon You don’t have to run a sub two-hour half marathon or do a set of bicep curls in under one minute to be successful and achieve your weight-loss goals. emoticon

Do what feels comfortable and natural, and always remember: Slow and steady wins the race emoticon emoticon

emoticon No matter how big or small the workout, you’ll feel energized, strong, and confident afterward. emoticon

emoticon Sometimes, your brain can be your own worst enemy. Keep yourself mentally sharp (and thinking positive thoughts) by snacking on nuts, adopting a Mediterranean cooking style, and getting plenty of sleep. emoticon

emoticon No Goal Was Ever Met.....Without A Little Sweat! emoticon

emoticon Don’t be afraid of a little sweat during your workout. emoticon

emoticon Be prepared by staying hydrated and choosing the right pre- and post-workout liquids to fuel your body and help your muscles recover, such as water, sports drinks, or chocolate milk. emoticon
