Becoming a smaller person... one pound at a time

I'm a mom, a screenwriter, a daughter, a sister and a friend. After struggling with my weight for most of my adult life, I've finally developed the motivation and willpower to lose the weight and be the healthy person I believe I was meant to be.

I started this latest journey on May 25th and have since lost 21 lbs. I still have a lot to lose but I'm done letting numbers hold me back. It's so easy to say "I can't lose 100 pounds so why bother trying". It CAN be done and I am GOING ...

My Goals:
I would like to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. I want to lose weight, improve my health and then pass on my knowledge to my family and friends so they can make a positive change in their lives as well.

My Program:
Currently I'm just focused on changing my diet. I drink nothing but water and eat all my meals at home (no fast foods). Absolutely no sugar, fried foods or trans fat.

Thanks for stopping by & congrats on the size 16 - feels great, doesn't it?

In terms of protein, I really work hard it. In about July, my trainer suggested I try this thing called "Eating Clean." Now granted, I can't get anywhere near where they say you should be, but one thing I did pick up was to make sure I always eat protein w/ a complex carb (and even if I have just regular carbs, I try to have protein). So if I have a salad, it's gonna have chicken or fish or something on it. Even my snacks have protein - normally a Greek yogurt in the morning & cottage cheese/regular cheese/nuts +fruit for afternoon. Sometimes I'll even throw in egg whites or PB with a snack (I love sliced apples with peanut butter).

Gave you a little virtual wardrobe there for a night out on the town. emoticon If only I lived closer....we could go out dancing in skinny jeans for real! (yes, I WOULD drag you kicking & screaming.)

Hey Chiquita.

Wassup? I am off to a really lame start on this 90 day challenge. emoticon I even bailed halfway through my run this morning, where previously the worst i did was walk 2 minutes before i was supposed to.

Ah well. It's a never ending struggle, huh? Hope your week is going well!
