All about me......

I am retired and a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and I'm sure I am a few more things I don't even know about. I have been on this weight loss journey for most of my life and a few times have even reached my goal.

At this point I am pre-diabetic and still need to lose quite a bit of weight so it is time to get serious again. This time will be forever as I cannot keep doing this or feeling disgusted with myself.

I will continue to walk everyday ...

At this point I am pre-diabetic and still need to lose quite a bit of weight so it is time to get serious again. This time will be forever as I cannot keep doing this or feeling disgusted with myself.

I will continue to walk everyday at least 5 days a week. I will do some kind of exercise every day. I will weight/measure all food including condiments. I will be accountable to myself and weigh in in front of another person to keep myself accountable.

My goal is to lose 5% of my body weight for this challenge and maybe a little more for good measure!

My Goals:
I want to be a healthy weight and not feel anxious when I have to get on the scale in the doctor's office.

My goal is to lose 5% of total body weight by the end of the Spring challenge.

My Program:
Spring Challenge Exercise Plan:

Walk 60 minutes in the morning 5 days a week.

Walk - 30 minutes in the afternoon 7 days a week.

Ride stationary bike 30 minutes 5 days a week.

Personal Information:
Hi -

My name is Donna. My DH of 47 years and I live in central Florida most of the year. We have a little cabin in the mountains where we like to go and escape the summer heat.

I love to read, play computer games, garden and walk. I spend most Saturday mornings at the local yard sales and am forever searching for that special treasure.

My DH and I like to travel - especially cruises. We like unpacking once and sleeping in the same bed every night. And someone else takes care of everything else. But for 2014 we plan to see the USA. We've done quite a bit but have places we want to re-visit and take the grand with us this time.

We are blessed with two grown children (one son and one daughter) and a sweet teen-age granddaughter. We love spending time together and try to take the grand everywhere we go. She still likes to be with us so we consider each day a gift.

Since I started cleaning myself the house is much fresher, so I know what you mean. I was told in 1995 that I needed to have someone clean because of the problems with my spine. I had several wonderful and reasonably price cleaners for many years. I think the issue was that we had stairs and a large house. Now that we are on one level, the cleaning is much easier but when my spine acts up, I once again need the help. The last person who cleaned for us was great for a few years but this past year has gotten lazy. Imagine my surprise the last time she cleaned, when she was finished in an hour and a half. This time period included several phone calls and smoke breaks as well as eating her breakfast oatmeal. She has complained recently about fatigue and I feel for her. However, that being said, sixty dollars a pop for a sloppy job is steep! I often clean lightly between her cleanings and this past time was a nightmare. Our bedroom, especially was filthy. She told me about all of these extra things she had done and yesterday when I cleaned I found that she had done none of them. She hasn't yet returned our house key and in a few more days, I am going to change the lock on the front door. Very sad situation for someone who has worked with use for five years!

Hi, Donna, thanks for being my very first visitor to my blog, "What Do You Want, Do You Really, Really Want?". I know that song will be stuck in my head all day, LOL.

I love the fitbit. It is so motivating and exciting to be able to get the 10,000+ steps in each day. You also have a food log. You can see your friends steps or whatever they are willing to let you see. I am just letting my friends see my steps as that is what I am most concerned about right. You should consider getting one. Later.

Hi Donna. I got home on Wednesday after 2 months traveling and visiting my daughters and their families. I had a wonderful time, but am so glad to be home. Tired and recovering from a couple of very long driving days. CA, CO, IL, MI, and PA were my major stops. Fun!
