I'm ready to make gettin' fit and healthy in 2014 my main goal. I've been through all the diets and made all the excuses there are to be made--now it's time to get serious. But better late than never. Like Winston Churchill said: "Never give up! Never, never, never." So neither will I.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. I'm so used to doing it on my own that I'm feeling kind of awkward sharing the journey with others, but I'm in for the long haul and loving the acceptance and friendship.

There is strength in numbers. Doing everything by yourself can be lonely and discouraging. But having a buddy or a team of supporters can help you to stick to it when the going gets tough. Instead of just going solo on the treadmill or bike, consider taking a group fitness class or joining a team sports league.
