I'm trying to become a healthier, happier and more fit person. And I'm also trying to become a writer, Improve my craft/art and learn the business end of things. Strangely, these two goals seem to be at odds with each other. It seems that I can only focus on one thing at a time.

Part of my journey is recorded here: http://mfwrites.wordpress.com/

I never know what foods are the same in US as Canada but I have a bread I am finding fills me up... Country Harvest fibre bread with 16 grams of fiber. They also have a protein bread now that has 17 g of protein and still a lot of fibre. This morning I had BLT's cutting most of the fat off the bacon... took me a while to pick through the bacon to find a meaty package. However my alternate breakfarst is usually oats and frozen fruit.

I really like the Dole Asian Crunch salad which mades 2 large lunch salads for me.

Crock pot dinners seem to be the best option right now, that I can start in the morning and will be ready at night. I've been using ground sirloin because it does not have the fat to make spagetti sauce to put on zuchhini pasta or chili, or tonight is a risatto with tinned tomatoes, rice and chicken thighs. I've also learned you can make sweet potatoes in the crock pot... no fuss, just throw them in on low in the morning and they are perfect for dinner, skins and all. Works for my large family well. I've been using frozen vegetables as the side. Just no time this week for any fussing.

I'm not sure what you are detoxing from. Hope you find the answer to your chip alternative. I like tahini sesame seed apple butter cookies as they are full of fiber and low in sugar and fill me up quickly... or GF muffins and fruit. I've been making pumpkin ones and zucchini ones but was making chocolate almond ones before. Lots of fiber seems to be the key for me.

Hurray for you making some good choices and woo hoo for getting some house cleaning done! emoticon

Thanks for your comments on my blog!

Not eating meat is not hard for me at all. I was and am never tempted to eat it these days! Didn't ever have cravings for meat the way I can crave sugar or cocoa.
Not wanting to hurt animals is an important reason for me to be a vegetarian, but other reaons are the environment, that I know that eating meat really is unhealthy, I know that our bodies weren't made to digest it. and I find it disgusting, if I may be honest.
To a long time vegetarian it really doesn't make all that much sense to eat meat. People look at me weird for being a vegetarian but I find it wayyyy more weird that they can eat meat without gagging.
