I'm trying to become a healthier, happier and more fit person. And I'm also trying to become a writer, Improve my craft/art and learn the business end of things. Strangely, these two goals seem to be at odds with each other. It seems that I can only focus on one thing at a time.

Part of my journey is recorded here: http://mfwrites.wordpress.com/
I keep forgetting to add to it; reminders are welcome!

Re protein...yes that is what I was wondering, protecting the muscle mass. I would think they would also recommend strength training, which I believe that you did indicate in one of your blogs.

Re small (very small) servings... gastric surgery aside, it would be a good way of getting a variety of healthy foods into the diet and more variety period. Yesterday I tried this for breakfast....scrambled eggs, 1/2 orange, 1/2 whole wheat English muffin. Made more of a complete meal nutritionally and also made the plating look better. Yet, the total amount of food was less. (Granted, more than you are probably allowed to eat with gastric surgery, but I am sure you get my point.)

I'm not sure why yet. I might have been told and forgotten. It could be that we are losing so fast that we need to protect muscle mass?
