Hi everyone, I'm starting afresh with the knowledge that I actually know how to do this weight loss and live a healthy life thing but just need to actually believe in myself and do it.

What works for me is 3 healthy appealing and structured meals every day without any overeating or massive dieting..and a happy, healthy environment in which I am setting and achieving goals every day.

I have 30 lbs to lose I will be soooo happy when I achieve this - but this isn't the be-all end all. I want to stay away from making just my weight my focus which I have done in the past and make living a healthy well rounded life my goal so that the weight just falls off.

To that end I want to set daily life, career and family goals along with healthy cooking ideas..planning out those 3 meals.

I also want to get into enjoyable workout mode so that I'm incorporating fun exercise into my daily life without turning into a gym rat (have done that in the past -- did not work for me..and just made me feel like a hamster on a never ending treadmill!) So the workout goal is go for workouts that are fun.

I'm looking forward to really utilizing sparkpeople and learning from everyone here while taking advantage of those resources!

My favorite workouts change as my body decides things aren't gonna work anymore. So I would have said boxing, it feels soooo good, but lately it triggers migraines and isn't all that great for older people because the impact can cause detached a retina. So I slip it in every once in a while. But lately, it's all about walks, super fast ones, with a little jogging and even a few sprints thrown in as I try to keep up with my son.

Thank you for stopping by my blog!!

I ADORE Thai and Chinese food - I'm only just now becoming confident enough about the flavours needed to try and develop my own recipes emoticon

I also ADORE my allotment! emoticon

They are very popular in England and I was on a waiting list for 2 years before I got it, but I've never regretted it (if I've counted correctly, it is my 5th season on it.)
I'm not the best of gardener and it can be a bit hit and miss, but I enjoy it so thoroughly, I couldn't imagine being without it now.
I went today and seeing my herbs, lettuce, potatoes, etc starting to grow is extremely satisfying and exciting! emoticon
