. My diet is the biggest problem I can see. Unfortunately in my job I'm required to sample food constantly. I believe that there are no " bad" foods, nothing off limits to me. Everything in moderation. That said I am trying to limit my sugar intake. And reign in my calorie counts.
Exercise is not a problem, I love love love ST!
I have a new puppy who requires a lot of vigorous daily exercise. Our favorite is the chase game.
I've worked in professional kitchens since the early 1970's. Food is a major part of my life. Being a woman in a male dominated field was a struggle back when I started as a line cook in a high volume fine dining restaurant. Being an older woman in a physically demanding industry is a struggle too. I enjoy the struggle. I enjoy the long hours, the heat, the noise. The food.
In my early 50's my metabolism started to slow down.

Personal Information:
Three strong, kind daughters. I'm so, so proud of the way they are turning out. One granddaughter so far, going to be as fine a person as her mom and aunts.

Other Information:
The year that I turned 50 I went on my first hike. My husband is a big hiker, and I wanted something else to share with him. Since then I've been hiking to celebrate all our 'milestones' - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays. Living in up state NY, we do a lot of Adirondack hikes, but we also hike in the Shawangunks and the White Mountains of NH.
Cruising through my 60's now, enjoying the strength training I do with my big guy and our current person trainer, Jordan. He challenges us. We've been sharing a trainer for twelve years now, our biggest indulgence in life.

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Winter challenge will be getting started the beginning of December. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meat your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Fall we had a World Series and a Haunted House. If you decide this might be for you you can leave your name on the waitlist for the Winter challenge.     My pain is a lot better, but sill red in areas. I might have to go another round of meds. I will email the nurse Monday.

    Hey Nancy,
    They have these "wraps" that claim to help you lose weight. My son came home with a business card from someone he works with at the restaurant. She was promoting these miracle wraps along with shakes, etc. He said she lost 30 lbs. by following this. I was curious if anyone I had ever known actually tried these. One person said she did and they don't work. I "assumed" they were too good to be true.
