I ' m recommitting to a more careful lifestyle. I've joined the fall 5% challenge team as a start. My diet is the biggest problem I can see. Unfortunately in my job I'm required to sample food constantly. I believe that there are no " bad" foods, nothing off limits to me. Everything in moderation. That said I am trying to limit my sugar intake. And reign in my calorie counts.
Exercise is not a problem, I love love love ST!
I have a new puppy who requires a lot of vigorous daily exercise. With me, no treadmill running for my little guy!
I've worked in professional kitchens since the early 1970's. Food is a major part of my life. Being a woman in a male dominated field was a struggle back when I started as a line cook in a high volume fine dining restaurant. Being an older woman in a physically demanding industry is a struggle too. I enjoy the struggle. I enjoy the long hours, the heat, the noise. The food.
In my early 50's my metabolism started to slow down.

The year that I turned 50 I went on my first hike. My husband is a big hiker, and I wanted something else to share with him. Since then I've been hiking to celebrate all our 'milestones' - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays. Living in up state NY, we do a lot of Adirondack hikes, but we also hike in the Shawangunks and the White Mountains of NH.

    What a great job! I regret not figuring out how to get into recipe research or something like that. I really never wanted to work in someone else's kitchen (it would be my business or no business haha) but to do something other foodie like would be awesome!

    I liked those tuna melts way more than expected and that oopsie bread.. today is the last two pieces with just the left over tuna. I haven't had a tuna sammy in 10 months and I am EXCITED!!! My mind is reeling over Oopsie bread possibilities if I can find out the best way to store it lol

    Hey, no, not in front rack position. I had to have the kettlebell bottom straight up (not resting against the wrist) and my arm not touching my body. Killer on the core.

    Not only did I return I plan to go at least once a week. I was planning tonight but I may go to the local fair to help out a friend at the booth. it is currently in question. I am looking forward to August when I can plan a routine around both Zumba and Pilates! This is definitely new ground for me but I am enjoying the burn so far!!
