Travel is Fatal to Prejudice, Bigotry and Narrow-mindedness Mark Twain

My husband and I love to travel. We have done quite a lot in Europe, China, Thailand and the Caribbean. We love to watch the travel shows on TV. You learn so much from traveling and it truly broadens your horizons. One thing I have learned is that people are people- all basically the same--all over the world!

My Goals:
I would like to take charge of my weight and get healthy. I hate to exercise, but at my age it becomes a necessity, not a choice unless I want to deal with the alternative.

My Program:
I am staying within my calorie goals and eating healthier- working on more veggies. My downfall is not exercising. I am working on this, making slow progress.

Personal Information:
I live in a small town in northern Illinois. My husband and I have been married 45 years and have 2 sons. Unfortunately no grandchildren yet. Effie Annie is our "dogter".

I am a nurse on the brink of retirement. Just having a hard time making the big decision.

emoticon emoticon So far so good. I am on my 3rd day with no sweets. They say it gets easier once you are past the 3rd day. It was a challenge to walk into the grocery store tonight... emoticon I told my husband, don't even say the word...as we passed the big display of pumpkin pie emoticon -my fave! He laughed and we kept going. I am determined! Stay warm up there...we about to plunge into the cold for a couple days! I think that is harder on us, than getting cold and staying cold. UGH!! emoticon

You really should go on an airboat ride next time you come down. They have several in Citrus county..no need to go to the Everglades, like you used to years ago. We plan to go on one again soon. So much fun!!
I posted a new blog recently with pics of the biggest wild alligator we have seen since living here. Hope you are having a good week. I am finally over my cold and congestion and cough. Just in time for allergy season! UGH! emoticon

Did you ever go on an airboat ride while in the Everglades? We did and those are the best fun! Glad you enjoyed the photos on my blog. Are you enjoying the fall weather and colors up there?! Miss those fall colors...do you take pics of it and if so, why no post some of them or do a blog. Been awhile since you did a blog. Hope your husband is doing better! Take care and good to hear from you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

EFFIE, DH is cataract surgery but he has Macular degeneration, Glaucoma and beginning cataracts.
One macular is GONE. The Dr hopes to help the other eye see better. He will eventually be legally blind. That was the reason to make the backyard so nice for him to see. Thanks , it is what it is and I worry about him.

My champion and my love of my life. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
