Feel better, look better: be healthy!

For the first time in my life, my BMI was in the "overweight" range; others didn't really seem to notice it (I'd still have people outright call me "skinny"), and I didn't notice it much when I looked in the mirror...BUT. It wasn't a wake-up call about how I looked, really. It was a wake-up call about how I felt, and how I felt was mostly bad: tired, bloated, apathetic.

I know that I feel better when I'm active and making healthy choices, whether in my diet or otherwise. ...

I know that I feel better when I'm active and making healthy choices, whether in my diet or otherwise. Recognizing this is the first step to a lifestyle overhaul, and I'm making it not just because I want to look better, but because I want to feel like a person again.

So far, so good! :)

My Goals:
Right now my #1 goal is to feel comfortable in a bathing suit by the time I go to Cedar Point on 7/26...which is really just as much mental as it is physical!

My Program:
- Eating better, but not restrictively (with the exception of dairy, which I restrict b/c I have a casein allergy)

- C25K (Just finished my first race: United Run for the Zoo on 6/2, with a time of 35:54!) - I can run 5K without stopping now, so I'll be focusing more speed work + regular walking

- Biking

- Body weight strength training (planks: standard, side, & modified; squats; and push-ups - though I'm admittedly slacking on the push-ups)

Personal Information:
Name: Erika
Location: Chicago
Height: 5' (if you round up, at least)
Age: 26
HW: 135+ lbs
CW: ~129 lbs
GW: 105 lbs (though if I plateau at ~110, I think I'll probably be happy with that)

Other Information:
Future races I'm considering registering for:

- Bastille Day 5K or 8K (7/11)
- Chinatown 5K (7/13)
- Home Team Charity Run (7/14)
- Chicago 10K (8/11)
- Chicago 1/2 Marathon or 5K (9/8)
- Bucktown 5K (9/15)
- Crosstown Classic 10K (9/28)
