My whole family has weight problems that have resulted in diabetes, eating disorders, and heart disease. I am genetically screwed. My goal is to avoid these problems.

I actually don't put down any of those household chores or activities (gardening, moving boxes, etc.) on my fitness tracker. I know they exist, but I just feel like cardio that is done on purpose is more important to keep track of. I call it "deliberate cardio", haha.

You mentioned pilates, but I can tell you that I was sceptical over the effective of yoga until I found some free HARD tapes on Exercise TV. It was forty five minutes of toughness. I haven't had to push myself and sweated so hard in a LONG time, and I regularly do kickboxing and used to do martial arts. I know they're not the same, but give pilates a chance and watch what happens.
