I'm definitely excited about the JE program. I really knew nothing about it but then I looked at the eating plan and thought, "Now this is something that might actually help me balance my distorted perceptions and swings in food." Basically, I'm following her plan, which is really pretty liberal except for the "allowed" foods list and basic portion guidelines, and I'm not tracking a single calorie. I want to just eat when she says to eat, even if it feels like too much. So far, it's working. Definitely working. I eat a snack before my workouts and a snack right after and - imagine this! - I don't have to come home and grab a few snacks instead of dinner and end up an emotional eating mess. Good luck with moving in to Intuitive Eating! I'd recommend the book I started with as a kind of transition point: "Mindful Eating," by Jan Chozen-Bays. The formal text, "Intuitive Eating," by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch is really great, too.
Granted, I didn't follow the plan to a T, I just took some advice and tips from the program and used them as I saw fit in my life. All the best! 2113 days ago
