“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator,
another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter.
Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day.
Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.”

Hi Ellie
Today I went with DB and worked on my pillars at the big house. We got a lot done. It is moving along much quicker than I expected. Tomorrow morning I will work on the pillars for a couple of hours. DB and I have managed to get 3 pillars done and hope to finish two more tomorrow. That will leave 2 for when I return from Texas!

My DS is arriving tomorrow afternoon. He will finish plastering my bedroom. Yahoo! If he gets it done I can paint it before DH gets home and then he can put in the carpet finally.

I did work on the quilt last night again. I made three more courthouse step squares. Easy peasy. I will work on putting them together next week. I will be too busy with DS visit since he is bringing my GD. Then when he leaves I go to Texas to watch the other two grands for four days! I’ll be ready to come home for sure! LOL. I’m getting old and my limit is usually a couple of days!

I hope you enjoy your DDs visit! Putting borders on means you are getting something done! Good for you. After next week I will be able to start on another UFO. I’m determined this is my year to get things done!

Okay so I lied. After checking out the size of the quilt I realized it is not even close to a king! The pattern is a lap quilt and although I added squares I miscalculated because I was thinking they were 12 inch but they are 10 inch squares. So, now my aim is at least 7 rows. I now have five done and will see how the 7 look on my bed before deciding on borders. I may have to add even more! Ugh

The good thing is the quilt is getting easier as I sew. I am finding the best way to cut, and the best way to sew the squares. Funny how experience makes life so much easier! I may even make myself one at some point.

Glad you are getting in some quilting. Have the dogs left now? I feel so good about the projects I have managed to finish lately! Next week I go to DDs house for four days and will take several quilt tops to the machine quilter. It is time to get something completed!

TGIF!

Ellie I woke determined to get more done than I have been. I spent a couple of hours cutting out the fabric and then did some chain piecing. I am almost done with four stars which will complete an entire row. That will make it 3 out of 5 done! Yeah! I now have to spend several hours cutting out more fabric. As you know it is a kaleidoscope which is a pain to cut. I have to cut 8 layers in exactly the same place to make the kaleidoscope. I think I have about 8 or 10 more of those to do. After that it should all be downhill! LOL.

I am watching the snow come down. It is supposed to warm up by the weekend. I hope so. I have work to do outside and I need to go to town which I won’t do unless it warms up.

Well, I hope you are enjoying your Wednesday.
