Getting healthy...

I have done the dieting thing over and over, always with a maniacal focus on getting SKINNY. But now, after watching my mom's struggle against cancer be made all the more difficult because of her weight, I want to be HEALTHY. Losing weight is a pleasant side effect.

My Goals:
I want to get healthy-- this means not only losing weight, but also quitting smoking, drinking less, getting enough sleep, and giving my body the right nutrients. I feeel better already.

My Program:
I am watching my calories but on a daily average (by week) instead of every day. I am trying to stay under 1500, so that have mean 7 days at 1500, or 5 days at 1200 and 2 days at 2000.

I try to workout 4 days a week, some combination of cardio and strength. Currently, I am working on a 5k training program.

Personal Information:
My heart belongs to charm city.

Other Information:
Aside from getting healthy, my other passion is writing. My novel, Max and Menna, was a ForeWord Book of the Year finalist. I am hoping all of my new-found energy will give me more time to write1
