Consistent living - It's not about me

Most of the time in a healthy living journey a person has to focus on themselves and the changes they need to make in their lives. But that doesn't work for me. As a follower of Jesus Christ. my life's desire is to know Him more and make Him known.
This life is not about me. It's about Jesus. It's about His gospel and it's all for His glory. In this healthy living journey, I will make changes to become healthier but I will also look for ways to encourage others on their journey!

I have struggled with my weight and body image for as long as I can remember. I remember being called names like "tubby" and "sumo wrestler" growing up. I have had 4 children gaining about 50 lbs with each child by believing "I could eat whatever I wanted because I was pregnant." Each time I was able to lose the weight before becoming pregnant with the next child.
I have found three trigger foods- wheat, sugar and caffeine and I am working to cut them out of my diet!! I am consistently working towards a healthy lifestyle by maintaining a streak of my goals.

Let me know if I can help you!

Nothing is impossible with God . Luke 1:37

God's strength is made perfect in my weakness! 2 Corinthians 12:9

“God, I recognize that I am made for more than the vicious cycle of being ruled by food, body image, and comparing myself to others. I am thankful that You made my body unique in ways that I can serve You and in ways that turn my reliance upon You. I need to eat to live, not live to eat. So I keep asking for Your wisdom to know what to eat and Your indwelling power to walk away from things and thoughts that are not beneficial for me." Our taste buds crave many things to satisfy, but only persevering with God will make us truly full.”
Lysa TerKeurst - Made to Crave

"When you get in a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and the time that the tide will turn."
- Harriet Beecher Stowe

emoticon to Camp WannabeFit!! I see you already know a number of Campers so I'm sure you'll fit right in. We are a team that goes beyond the scale and lets You choose what you need to work on.

Happy Camping! emoticon

Hey Elsa glad to hear from you. I am doing well just dealing with DHs medical issues as well as my back. WE are thinking about moving so I have been going through the house and tossing what I can. Hopefully DH gets a job with the one company he is interviewing with. It is a large firm (which he doesn't really want) but it will enable us to move to almost anywhere that we would like. It is time for a change.

I have joined the wannabefit team and loving it. It is less demanding of my time and I can work on the areas that I need at any particular time. I have missed our Falcons but knew that I didn't have the time commitment that it would take.

How is everything with you and your family? When do you start back with school? What will you be teaching this time - still gym?

Hi Elsa,

Thanks for checking up on me. I'm enjoying the less demanding Wannabefit team. Glad you're doing well and I Donna and Kelly are working hard to keep the Falcons moving. I'm sure they are doing a fine job.

I am going to have to learn how to eat gluten free so I've got some challenges, and work, ahead but hopeful it will be a win-win in the end. I'll keep you posted!!

Hope all is well with you and the family. I do admire you homeschooling for sure. Working in a public school, I have a great appreciation for individuals like yourself who do such a great job. I know how much work it truly is and how wonderful for your children.

Take care and thanks again for checking on me.

Hugs!!!

Weezie

Elsa,

It looks like you've done very well in the BLC. I know it is difficult. Donna has kept me informed about the "problems". I know that several teams have completely folded. Hope that doesn't happen to the Falcons. But I don't see me coming back. It has been so much better for me. I've "watched" all of you and see that some aren't doing as well as others. But glad to see that you are still losing!!
