Consistent living - It's not about me

Most of the time in a healthy living journey a person has to focus on themselves and the changes they need to make in their lives. But that doesn't work for me. As a follower of Jesus Christ. my life's desire is to know Him more and make Him known.
This life is not about me. It's about Jesus. It's about His gospel and it's all for His glory. In this healthy living journey, I will make changes to become healthier but I will also look for ways to encourage others on their journey!

I have struggled with my weight and body image for as long as I can remember. I remember being called names like "tubby" and "sumo wrestler" growing up. I have had 4 children gaining about 50 lbs with each child by believing "I could eat whatever I wanted because I was pregnant." Each time I was able to lose the weight before becoming pregnant with the next child.
I have found three trigger foods- wheat, sugar and caffeine and I am working to cut them out of my diet!! I am consistently working towards a healthy lifestyle by maintaining a streak of my goals.

ELSAT137  feels like I have woken up from a winter fog. I need to figure this out before next winter. Seasonal Affective Disorder or vitamin D deficiency maybe?

Hi Elsa! Yes, I've registered for the BLC25, and put down the Falcons as my 1st choice! I hope I get placed back with the team!! The thing with Vitamin D is that it needs to be at a consistent level in you at all times. You'll have more vit D during the summer if you are outdoors more, and less during the winter when you are indoors. I'd make arrangements to get a blood test done now as it's still just Spring. Have them check your thyroid levels too while their at it! I take a vit D supplement every day along with potassium and a multi.

I hope you will love 'The Plan' as much as I do! I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to be off blood pressure meds! I had tried EVERYTHING in the past few years to get off them with no success. But losing the inflammation did it!! And maintaining easily at 140 when I'd been struggling to maintain at 145 seems too good to be true! But its happening!! Be sure to check out the Sparkpeople team (you can get to it from my sparkpage) - having the team to chat with early on especially really helped me. emoticon emoticon

Hi Elsa! I've put the Falcons down as an option. We'll see what I get! :)

I'm okay. March was pretty rough- I had the flu, plus other yuckiness (allergies, etc). I'm glad it's April!! I joined a gym back in February. I'm going three or four times a week (except for March), and I'm actually enjoying it. Nutrition is still kicking my butt. I'm having a hard time finding a system (what foods to eat, how to track) that works for me. My mom suggested Weight Watchers (she goes sometimes), so I'm looking into that.

How are you?? I think about you sometimes and pray for you. Thank you for being a friend.
