***UPDATE***

I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy on April 4th 2012 and it has changed my life!! I am down 111 lbs from my highest weight and I'm so excited about my new energy and greater control over my life.

I have been in a plateu for almost 3 months now and it is very frustrating. The "honeymoon period" with my surgery is now over and I need to focus more on living the healthy lifestyle I have worked so hard to achieve.

However, the temptations are still there and it's hard fighting old habits that seem to never die. Right now I'm refocusing on my protein intake and cutting carbs/snacking from my day. Somehow that snacking found it's way back and it is really holding me back. But I'm happy to stay commited to my health and finding ways to continue to be the healthy person I see staring back at me each day.

Hello, my name is Jaime and this is my second profile on SparkPeople. I've decided that I needed a new start to go along with my new weight loss efforts. I am currently at my highest weight ever and I am so ready to lose this weight for good.

Right now I am doing a 6 month diet so I can qualify for a vertical sleeve weight loss surgery. I'm also talking with a therapist to work on my food issues, just found out i'm a binge eater. So my goal is to be ready for surgery in April of 2012.

Many people think that surgery is the "easy way out", but it is far from it. I will be changing my life in ways that I can't even comprehend at this moment. I will be eating small meals every 3-4 hours, sipping water constantly, exercising a few times a week, and learning to live life as a health individual. I will also be working on the head issues that have brought me to this weight and making adjustments in my self image as the weight comes off and I am able to be more active in my life.
