Guess it' s time to update my info. When I started Spark I was just about to turn 60 and weighed 190 or so. I'm now 62 and holding pretty steady between 163 & 165. Haven't reached my goal of 155 but did get down to 157 for almost a month. Of course, I haven't been doing all the things I did when I first started. Still need to work on turning those things into daily habits but I am a "work in progress" and in much better condition physically than I was when I started. Taking it day by day ...

Thank you again, Gayle. I was afraid that blog would just put people off. You're right, I do seem to have been very fortunate in terms of doctors, especially considering I just moved here. Being in Columbus is probably a good idea in that respect - Ohio State University has a highly respected teaching hospital, cancer center, all kinds of medical things around here. If I was back in my old town, I'm not sure my opthamologist would have even found the problem. The one here had lots more tests and equipment.

You're right, it does help to be a morning person. I wake up at 5 or 6, so I'm able to enjoy the coolest part of the day. I could never in a million years live in Florida, I don't know how you did that! I actually like winter, more likely to go out in a blizzard than on a hot humid day.

I see you have met Gail in Canada - MARITIMER3. She is a really neat person, smart as a whip and a very insightful writer. Glad I was able to make the intro!

Hi, I've noticed your comments on Kate's (kdlose) page, and read your blogs. I've added you as a friend, and hope you will consider adding me. Like you, I choose to keep the number of Spark Friends low so that I can interact with them regularly. More like the old idea of pen pals. (I have two of them also, in Australia.)

Gail

Thanks for commenting on my blogs. So glad you were able to get home safely Monday evening. We were all happy to give up golf for some rain we needed. Still haven't had an inch like most areas near us. Looks like this hot week will drain a lot of moisture and hope we get some more RAIN!

Thanks for reading my many blogs! You're right, a big part of the emptiness is not having anyone who needs me. I find myself wishing my daughter would have a baby, married or not, so she'd need my help.

It's so strange, I'm taking all these steps putting together a new life but it doesn't feel real, it feels like any minute I'm going to get in the car and go home. I'm not sure if this is because I'm ambivalent about leaving or what.
