This Year for My Body

Or,How Lean, Strong and Athletic Can a 57 y.o. Lifelong Couch Potato Become?

I'm 57, mother of two grown kids, married to an engineer. My entire adult life has been a yo-yo weight experience, but instead of giving up, I'm going to try again. Kicked off my new effort on Jan. 1, 2007, and have taken off about 70 lbs.

My Goals:
Well, I'm tired of being heavy. More importantly, I'm tired of the toll it's taking on my joints and general quality of life.

I go back and forth about what I want my goal weight to be. Right now I just want to be in the "normal" range. I do want to settle at a weight and stay there and actually develop a wardrobe around ONE size!

My Program:
I have been eating well for a change. By that I mean lots of fresh, natural foods, and controlled portions. I am drinking water. I am using my elliptical trainer and taking long walks. Have started a little running.

Personal Information:
I live in the mountains of Colorado.

Other Information:
I started running to lose weight...now I want to lose weight to be a better runner!

Thanks for the encouragement. I can't believe that I'm running either. Today of the (3W + 3R) x 4 reps was easier.
