On my way to drop it away!

I'm a 25 year old full-time student. I need to start focusing on myself and who I am becoming. Right now I don't like who I am and I'm hoping within the next three years I can change that just as I'm exiting graduate school. If you have any suggestions or advice please pass them along, I'd love to hear from you!

Eh, this week has been a struggle. I started back to school last week (it's an accelerated course- two days a week, 4-1/2 per class), so I have really been fighting my schedule. I am trying to figure out how I can get myself out of bed early enough to get in a workout. We leave on a cruise (ten year anniversary gift) in less than two months and I would like to look better than I do now.

I have been trying to track my food intake. I think that is why I was not having much luck with my weight loss. I'll know on the 20th if measuring made a difference.

You can do this! It is a process and small steps lead to big results. Just the fact that you are exercising more shows that you have what it takes to get this done. emoticon

Hi there,
How's your week going?

I do the elliptical. We got a good one and I have been using it religiously. I did a 30 minute workout yesterday and I am feeling it today. I'm not sure if I worked harder or stronger, but I am sore today.

What do you do for fitness?

I think small goals are good. They give a sense of accomplishment and can build momentum. My new goal is to eat at the kitchen table and not in front of the T.V. Surprisingly, my husband supported this decision. I read somewhere that it takes 30 days for something to become habit, so if we can make it 30 days at the dinner table, it should become a habit.

Drinking more water was one of the first things I attacked. That and not eating as many meals out. Due to my school schedule (Tuesday and Thursday evenings), we were eating a LOT of meals out.

I think that upping my water intake was one of the easier goals. I am still trying to increase my veggie intake. I struggle with that.
