MAKING A COMEBACK. . . . . in 2015

My goal for 2015 is to lose the 10 lbs I regained from when I first joined SparkPeople. I intend to lose those 10 lbs. and more to be the weight that I have set as my goal weight. I don't know what happened this year but my weight slowly creeped up and up. I didn't regain it all but it has to stop. By the end of the year I had stopped weighing myself and felt very free and that is where it got me. And I really didn't care about what I ate so I overate a lot.

The good thing is that I have made a habit of walking 6,800 steps a day using my Spark Activity Tracker. Now this year, I have to work on my eating.

I started SparkPeople seriously in December of 2008 weighing the highest I ever weighed. I joined a few teams and set goals. I tracked my food faithfully each day, and the lbs. started coming off. I even overdid the eating a few times but still lost weight. I WAS SO EXCITED! I could not believe this was happening. I had a zillion diet books home, but they were too restricting and difficult to follow. In a few months I had lost 16 lbs. eating REGULAR food. I also made some wonderful friends on the teams I joined. My friends gave me motivation, enthusiasm, and pushed me on when I was stuck. I had not started exercising yet. But my team was not going to let me get away with that. One of the leaders kept trying to get me to walk. I resisted or only did it halfheartedly. Then I found the Leslie Sansone DVDs Walk Away The Pounds and I was hooked. I was down 20 lbs. My clothes looked great on me, I was able to get off of one of my blood pressure medications, and I had 8 lbs to go to goal!

Then I somehow lost my motivation and a few lbs. slowly crept back on. Then I purchased the SPAT and find myself walking 6,000 just about every day! I am thrilled because this has now become a habit. I still have 11 lbs. to lose to get to goal. I am BELIEVING that this will happen in the coming year.

My Goals:
My goals for 2015 are:

1.Continue to start out each day with a 15 minute prayer time with God, using my "Jesus Calling" Book.
2. Meet my goal of 6,800 steps a day on my SPAT
3. Eat less processed food.
4. Go to bed by 1:30AM at the latest or earlier and get up at 8:30 at the latest.
5. Weigh myself everyday.
6. Try to start some strength training.
7. Encourage team mates. Help others out when needed.

Some of these are the same goals I had for 2014...some accomplished and some not. This year I Hope I will accomplish them and reach my goal weight.

My Program:
Every day I will:
1. Log in to SparkPeople
2. Use the nutrition tracker.
3. Walk 6,900 steps a day.
4. Not get discouraged if I slip up on some things.

Personal Information:
I live in Sauquoit, New York in a 210 year old house on 4 acres of land. My husband, John, passed away on Dec. 7, 2009. I have 8 grown children and 21 grandchildren.
I love to read, write, and draw. I am Polish and love to dance and listen to Polkas.

Other Information:
I am the Author of the Erie Canal Cousins Series, and Town of Paris Twins Series historical fiction for children set in NY in 1840 and 1857.
