The Fabulous and Frustrating 40s

In July 2008, I joined sparkpeople because I had hit my highest weight ever. Daily exercise is part of my life now, but I still have a lot of work to do on the eating side. The 40s are awesome in so many ways, but the big downside is that the weight is harder and harder to take off. I'm happy that I've gotten a lot healthier, but I still have a lot of work to do!

I agree! No more long races. Short ones that don't take much training are okay but no more half marathons for a while!

Thanks for all the nice words! So funny, maybe not to funny story - the girl scouts kinda just dropped me, they sent a notice about some round tables and what would i like to do. I wrote back and said i didnt' really know, but hoped to chat with others... i did not notice the the please rsvp thing, and showed up 30 min late cause i had intended to go to a different meeting and that one was 30 min later... not a soul there... so i guess it was cancelled... and then i replied to the fact that i was an idiot... with all the girls that need volunteers i'm surprised at the lack of interest... but i guess if you don't have a troop to help they really don't know what to do with you. I'm hoping there will be a badge seminar soon and they'll need help with that! anyhow- my long, maybe just funny to me story!

What I can't fathom is getting up at 445 to do my run! Ugh!! Luckily I put all my runs on late start days :-)

Yeah, I mean I'll never be entirely "ok" with it, but I'm not fighting the reality of it either. If that makes any sense.

Losing a parent is so very hard, so I feel for you my friend. If you ever want to talk, I'm here to listen.
