Getting down to 135 lbs after child birth

I met my husband in September 2001 and has steadily increased my weight since then (with a short successful weight loss of 15 pounds when I was studying abroad and 10 pounds just before we got married last Summer). I was lucky that most of the 50 lbs I "gained" during my pregnancy was mostly water (though painful during the pregnancy I was happy to shed the water and weight within two weeks after my son was born).

My son is two years old now and I have decided to get to my ideal ...

My son is two years old now and I have decided to get to my ideal weight. I started at 79 kg/ 175 lbs in august and is now at 71,8 kg / 159 lbs. We are moving into our new house on May 1st so that is the new goal date for reaching is 61 kg / 135 lbs (unless I get pregnant!)

My Goals:
My goal is an optimistic 130 pounds which was my weight ten years ago. However, I was not very fit at that time so I am allowing myself some leverage for muscle and am expecting a true goal weight of 135-140. Basically what I am aiming for is a toned, healthy body.

During the Fall of 2007 I lost close to the first 10 lbs - actually I was below 162 from the second weekend of September until way into December. I tried to get below 150 before Christmas but unfortunately the weight fluctuated in the wrong direction.

I also managed to get to a better weight for my wedding - not as good as I wanted and unfortunately I put on some of the weight again after the wedding.

My new goal is to get to a healthy BMI by Christmas 2011. That means getting just below 150. I am convinced that it will make me able to fit into my jeans and other clothes that I love but can't wear at the moment.

My Program:
I am cutting out all the bad eating habits (such as binging on crisps and chocolate at "that time of the month") and commit to exercise every day (even if I only get to do 10 minutes!). I will commit to the following program:
- cardio exercise at least three times a week
- yoga at least twice a week
- walking 30 minutes with the baby every day
- take up running

Personal Information:
I am living with my husband in Copenhagen. I work as a negotiating consultant for a trade union.

I am expecting my first child any time soon! (July 2011)

Hi, EvaMarianne - saw your post on the class team thread and thought I'd congratulate you personally on your progress. As you say on your page, it's not just about the weight loss - it's about being healthy. Are you still riding your bike to work? That's fantastic.
