My Journey To Sanity

Hello! My name is Becca Mae and I'm very excited to be here!

I was on Spark a couple years ago, but I quit it after I noticed some destructive habits popping back up. I'm determined to fight the demons the right way this time and conquer them for good.

Here's my back story: I suffered from anorexia, (undiagnosed) from the age of 17-23. I'm 5' 2" and I was down to 89 lbs. I also obsessively exercised at this time, doing at least 4 hours 7 days a week. I was a total ...

I was a total mess. With the help and love of my family and God I was able to initially fight it, but the thing I feared most happened- I got heavy. I was up at 160, and I wasn't comfortable so I decided to lose weight the healthy way.

Here's my problem, every time I try to exercise and watch my calories I start to obsess over it and I feel all those horrible feelings and habits trying to take over again. So, this time I'm determined to not try and do this alone. I'm going to surround myself with a healthy environment (family, God and Spark) and beat these demons for good! To help with my ongoing journey I will be recording my food and exercise, but not my calories. :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and I hope you have an awesome day!

I want to fit into my smaller jeans and cut-off shorts.

I want to have the endurance to finally make it through a whole step aerobics class.

Hi. I read your intro and saw myself in your story - anorexia morphing into binge eating and weight gain. I am at an o.k. weight now but am on Spark to try and end the binging. I think it's smart for people who have had anorexia not to track calories. I started out tracking but it brought back too many dark/obsessive feelings. Best wishes and good luck on your journey.

Cute haircut & glasses. I keep my hair pretty short as well. Its a wise decision since I live in the desert! If you would like to be friends I would love that and we can encourage one another to have healthy eating habits, drink enough water, reduce stress and get enough sleep and relaxation time. Exercise is important sure but not when we overdo it.

I do believe having faith in a Higher Power (God) will keep you on the path to wellness and being healthy is part of the journey of life~
