Tidbits

I'm in my early sixties, married. One grown daughter and one son, who was killed Nov.2013 in a horrific motorcycle crash. I've been overeating since his death, not caring about what I put into my body. Taking momentary comfort in the empty calories of junk food. Now on top of depression I have fifteen extra pounds. I would like to lose it and keep it off. But my downfall over the years has been gaining and losing the same pounds over and over.

Hi there, I saw your comment on the exercise article and wanted to remind you that they are talking about achieving major weight loss. Doing what you are doing will GREATLY improve your lipid levels if you are consistent. Just keep it up. I work with patients who work out 3-5 times a week for 30 or so minutes and over a period of months the cholesterol levels do come down.

So DON"T give up! You are doing emoticon Just that bit of exercise you did leaves your body wanting more, so get back on that treadmill 2-3 times this week and by the beginning of next week you'll probably be increasing your time. Just stick with it and your doc will be so impressed with your lipids next time you check them!

emoticon emoticon emoticon on that treadmill workout!!!

I read your comment on an exercise article and wanted to encourage you. You may be more active than you realize. I deal with severe pain on a daily basis and have at least 60 pounds to loose. Any movement is exercise for me. Good job getting on the treadmill! Do you also count house cleaning & preparing meals in your exercise tracker? They count. For strength training i do arm curls, they can be more challenging than they appear. I use canned food as weights. I also count shopping as a slow walk. If it can cause physical pain and exhaustion i know it is exercise. Become aware of all activity that you do and document it. Look for simple things that you enjoy that are movement that you can count as exercise. That will make it fun and effortless. Stay in touch, i added you a friend

Thank you so much for the Spark Goodie. I wasn't able to attend TOPS today because I had to make an unexpected trip to the book store for my son for school. Hopefully I'll be able to go next week. I hope you've had a great day!
