Hello! I am a very motivated, middle-aged woman attempting to lose weight to improve my health and appearance. I've joined this site for added support...hoping to meet others on the same journey for added support! I used to be an avid walker, and love hiking, especially to waterfall sites. My Goals:
1St is to lose weigh
2nd is to lower b/p
3rd is to lower cholesterol & blood sugar.
4th is to increase physical activity and endurance.

My Program:
I am on a food plan restricting caloric and fat intake.
I have started an exercise program that includes walking and using a recumbant exercise bike. I will be adding strength training soon.

Personal Information:
I am from Dayton, OH although have lived numerous places the past 30 yrs. while being a military spouse. I am dealing with several health issues that have decreased my ability to exercise.

Hi there, I too am an avid hiker and love to hike from May until Oct/Nov. I love being in nature and feeling like I have achieved something when I get to the top of the mountain. I will be turning the big 50 in two days (May 19th) so am looking forward to a new start. I started this program two weeks ago so am a newbie. I would love to be buddies with you.

Hi There...After having experienced my own weight loss miracle I want to cheer you on and declare myself a testament, it can happen. At greater than 50, I was told to accept my weight and grow old graciously...I was willing to. But now, oh so grateful to declare success, I know we sometimes accept things we really don't have to. This can be done, and oh so simply. You Go Girl! emoticon

Hi neighbor!...[I live in Jamestown]
I love your nature photos!..I too,am limited by the exercises I can do,but,I can walk on the T.M...Not fast,but,I'm moving!...I also march in place each day for about 15-20 min. I'ts harder than it sounds!
