Fifi: fit & fabulous in the fifties!

Small bites for the biggest of tasks.
Haere mai, welcome to my page, Sparkers!

I started off slow on Sparkpeople, reading articles and exploring. going for the daily bonus spin, & taking care of the basics, such as sleep. Found my Spark and released the majority of my excess fat in 2013. Still a way to go, but it's in sight. Plan to be at goal in mid 2014, and when I get there, I'm sticking around!

I'm not losing the unwanted fat, I am getting rid of it and I have an eating and exercise programme that I can follow happily into maintenance.

While I still have more weight to release I am starting to focus on maintenance and have joined the maintenance team so I can warm up to what I see as the biggest challenge.

Feel free to drop by my page or blogs any time!

My Goals:
Increase fitness, flexibility & energy. Gain muscle, lose fat. In 2014 my focus is on releasing fat and more weight based exercise.
Doing pretty well so far, just 10 kg to goal, which should be around mid year.

My Program:
Log in every day & go for the bonus spin.
7-9 hours exercise weekly, mostly Zumba & water exercise. Loving my FitBit Flex & aiming for 10,000 'steps' (most of this is water exercise) injury free.
Rocking the Cura Romana to reset my weight and eating patterns in 2014.

Personal Information:
I'm a Kiwi chick, living with my DH in New Zealand. We have cats & chickens. I work part time and I love to garden.

Other Information:
I access Sparkpeople on my old iPad. It's a bit clunky. To do more than the basics, I need to get to another computer, so I don't always reply to messages straight away. Uh, and when I type, the text is tiny, so don't be surprised at some bizarre punctuation & comments, blame predictive text, LOL!

Fifi - you are so smart and correct - proof is in the pudding - I now get when you said that - ok - started reading just now and I feel very excited about reading this book and trying - I concur with HCG and big Pharma not to add the good ole Hypothalamus - tricky tricky hypo but when I arrived at page nine and she spoke of her accident - I almost fell over - OMG - Your the best Hugs K- Thanks :)

Chains are illegal here on city roads. I bought snow tires and I still have problems.

Thanks for stopping by my page to read my blog and for your comments. I've thought all along that finding a doctor that was willing to really listen to me would be the key but wasn't able to find one in the little town we lived in before moving. I never really thought about low fat equaling high sugar but I think you're probably right. Today is day 1 of change (again). I've had a lot of "day 1's" but hopefully this will be the start of a more successful journey.
