I have to get up every morning and tell myself, "I can do this." I must wake up with a new determination to be productive and healthy. When I go to bed at night I must have the satisfaction that I did what I set out to do for the day. I have to control my mind and the way that I think. If I do this, I can conquer my body. I must realize that I CAN control what I put in my body. No one else can do this for me. I must do it for myself.

I do believe in myself and know that I can make that difference that I am looking for. No one can make the difference for me, I have to do it for myself. I must replace negative thoughts with positive ones of hope and perseverance. I have to make each day count and know that I have to make a change in me.

My Goals:
UPDATE June 2017

I will lose 9 lbs for the summer challenge
I will track my food daily eating in the calorie range of 1200-1500 calories
I will do 20 minutes of exercise daily for upper, core, lower, and/or whole body
I will drink 6-8 glasses of water daily


Daily Goals...
1-SMILEY FACE....for every 4000 steps....$ .10/day
1-SMILEY FACE....for staying within my calorie range...$ .10/day
1-SMILEY FACE....for exercise done....$ .10/ day
1-SMILEY FACE....for drinking 6-8 glasses of water....$ .10/day

Weekly Goals...
1-BLUE SMILEY FACE....for every pound lost....$2.00/week
1-BLUE SMILEY FACE....for every inch lost....$2.00/week

Once completing the challenge or when I reach $50.00, I will purchase a $50.00 gift card for my successes and save for later to treat myself with new clothes, jewelry, etc.

My Program:
UPDATE June 2017
I will exercise 20 minutes every day. If I can do more I will. My exercise plan will include stretching, strengthening, and cardio.

I will use a Low Sodium, Low Calorie eating plan.

April, 2017
I will be using a low calorie, low sodium eating plan
I will use SP trackers to monitor my progress
I will use more plant-based meals
I will exercise 5-6 days a week using core and strengthening exercise working the core, upper body and lower body

January, 2017
The program that I will be following is low sodium due to my hypertension. I will be using the trackers from SparkPeople. I also plan to do more plant-based meals than I have in the past.

I plan to exercise using chair exercises right now because I have an acute sciatic nerve problem in my left leg. I also plan to do stretches to help with the pain. Until this pain subsides I am going to get at least 2500+ steps per day. As I get stronger and feeling better I will increase

Personal Information:
I am retired. I have been married for 42 years to the love of my life as of December 28. Had 3 children, two daughters and one son. The son is with the Lord. One daughter is married and has a son, who is our bouncy grandson. I have a wonderful son-in-law. Our youngest daughter is not married yet. She is my career driven child :).
