Taking an active posture toward life is important to me. What does that mean? For years, I thought my circumstances dictated much of what I could or couldn't do. There was always something or someone I could blame for the state of my weight, my finances and even my mental state.

While it has taken me awhile, a few trips around the mountain, I am finally free to be me. I am free to actively participate in the direction of my life. I realize there are no guarantees, and that life can deal some blows. But, the important thing to me is realizing my worth and my hopes are not hitched to my goals. The goals are have are there to move me toward a life that most closely represents the Jenny I was created to be.

When setbacks or tough circumstances come, sure I can get mad or sad, but I can also learn and grow.

I'm on here to actively engage in my life's journey. No more posture of just "rolling with the punches" or dealing with the cards I have been dealt. I have a choices and decisions to make. Those choices and decisions will lead to a destination. I want that destination to be a healthy, beautiful, and inspiring destination. My choices must lead me down that path,

5/3/08 First 1/2 Mara complete!

3/29/08 Ran 10 miles under 12 minute mile pace. Almost there...

3/15/08 Ran 9 miles avg pace 12:15 / mile all while a smidge ill. Woohoo.

3/1/08 Ran 6miles. Kept a pace of 12 min/mile!

2/20/08 My new record miles are 4.5 miles. Speediest miles: 2 miles in 20 minutes. Pressing on!

I am currently training for a half marathon that takes place the first wekend in May.

A year's worth of emails to my Sparkfriend Michelle. Accountability will keep you in the game!

I'm a mom of two boys who are just about ready to fly out of my nest. Married 17's been a journey. We're changing together.
Working on getting my outside and my inside to match. Inside, I'm an athlete. Outside, I'm working on it.

Other Information:
Been on this roller coaster ride a long time. Found that I can be my own little science experiment. It's the best way to view the journey. Rather than pass/fail...the objective is to learn and grow.

    Jen thank you for those words on my blog. You made me see I did give it my all, and now it is time for me to focus on me. Your right, exercise daily is where I need to begin because I have a tendency to let that part today I begin with my stickers on the calendar and lets see where that gets me. The time is now for changes and I think baby steps is what I will do. Exercise today, breakfasts next week...who knows where this could lead. emoticon
