Hey!

My weight gradually increased to the point where it started to seriously affect my health. My doctor told me I had to lose weight. I was looking for an on-line food tracker and my daughter told me about SparkPeople. So here I am...

I don't follow any particular diet. I just eat real whole foods. I buy organic as much as possible. I limit bad fats, meat and dairy. I avoid processed foods.

I try to walk 15K steps per day and at least 40 minutes of strength training ...

You should see the traffic around Sarasota/ Anna Maria Island during spring break! UGH! The line of traffic in April was about 5 miles long, I kid you not. Waiting to get over the bridge and into the area by the beaches. We turned around and never made it! Venice is so nice! We have friends that live down there! Have fun!! Be safe in your travels! emoticon

Sounds like a good plan! I just love St. Augustine due to the history of it and the lighthouse there. Never got to go to the fort though or to take a buggy ride, but will one day. We thought about moving there, before we ended up here, but it was more expensive and more crowded. Yeah, the beach at Anastasia Island isn't much. But, the ones at Sarasota area are some of the best...white sands, just beautiful. But, be ready for parking problems and crowds. Stay somewhere where you can walk to places...I hear Anna Maria Island is the worst for that parking problem. If you have never been on an airboat ride, you really should try somewhere in the Native Villages along Alligator Alley as you go over to the west coast. Best kind and so much fun!! Have a great trip! Hope you blog about it and post pics when you can. Would love to hear about it! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

That's cool..I looked Ottawa up and saw it was close to a town we went to once Kingston. Took a boat ride over from Ohio and Kelly's Island. Was too cool to be able to go to Canada like that!! Nice little town!! The money difference was confusing though. As most people have been to Niagara Falls. My husband to Toronto. Canada is a beautiful country...would love to visit again one day.
Have you ever been to Florida before-is this your first trip?

Thanks. Our union puts out these bingo nights twice a year. It doesn't cost us anything and we can win prizes such as bottled water, soda, toilet paper, sugar, gift cards, etc. We also get a free dinner. Our union dues at work! (Might as well....)
