Starting Over, Yet Again

Remember that book that is in the self help aisle that Charlotte was looking for in the Sex in the City, "Starting Over... Yet Again"? Well, that's exactly how I feel. I did Sparkpeople in 2007-08 and lost 30 pounds. Since that time I've gained 40 (put the 30 back on plus an extra 10). Now that I have my work and home life balanced it's time to start focusing on ME again.

My Goals:
Why am I doing this?

I want to set a good example for my daughter, my family and my friends.
I want to look and feel good.
I want to use food and exercise to nourish my body and soul.
I want to lose as much of my dangerous belly fat as I can.

Where do I hope to be by the end of 2014?

Complete a half marathon (registered for Pgh Half Marathon on 5/4/2014).
Be at or near "normal" BMI.

My Program:
Everything in moderation, plus lots of fresh fruits & veggies.

Hey Les, I just finished Day 1 of 30 Day Shred! I'm totally on board with your "family accountability" idea! There is no option on the fitness tracker for "Jillian's 30 Day Shred" but others said they log it as "circuit training." emoticon

Great! My second HM is in two weeks, and I have not started the taper. I tapered 2 weeks for the first one, and that was too long between my last good run and the race.

Glad it went well! We are all learning as we run along...

Congrats on your first 10K! WTG! I did my first 10K on Oct 20th, 2013. I noticed you joined ChiRunning, and I have adopted this technique recently after meeting Danny Dreyer. I am friending you, hoping you will friend me back as we progress on our journey.
