For me, living life to its fullest includes running, and now rock climbing, and irritating my friends with the knowledge I've found on Spark People and on other weight loss communities.

I'm not perfect and I don't pretend to or aspire to be perfect, either. I'm just me and I love that.

I decided to get fit because my hip joint decided to give me an ultimatum in April of 2010 - shape up or ship out. When my hip went out at 22, I knew if I didn't get healthy, I was going to end up crippled or dead or both. So I'm doing this my way with lots of roadblocks and hurdles along the way, and I'm learning to dodge, jump over, and knock down the haters, the stress, the disbelief and the lack of motivation that can have detrimental effects day in and day out.

I firmly believe in the phrase, "YOU GOT THIS." It's all I need to keep going strong.

Yep...I'm fine. I'm in the middle of CT so the wind was crazy but we missed (by far) the worst of it. Didn't even lose power. This is, of course, because I spent a boatload of cash on a generator. Hey...whatever works to appease the electricity gods... :)

Glad you are ok, but sorry to hear you are suffering from a nasty cold. Very cool that you finished your challenge.

The tire is actually GROWING. I know...really? It is floofy carb overload stuff...so I'm buckling down and hoping that this is just a blip on the scale...rather than something that will take a while to remove.

I think I'm going to plan on doing a half-marathon in 2013...that will help me in focus. Then again...I"m always good at planning. It is the execution part that kills me!
