Ahh, the race must have been on the GAP trail! Ha, I cycled that two years ago. I actually live all the way at the other end in DC so I'm very familiar with running on flat trails. :-P On the other hand, hilly trails are fun too - you just have to run slower! Check out this elevation map for the (half-trail half-road) Harpers Ferry HM that I'm doing next month:
