Hi. my name is Francine and I need to lose some weight and eat healthy foods all the time as I am a diabetic and also a asthmatic. I never had a weight problem growing up( I was very thin then). It was difficult to accept all the weight that has been piling on this frame of mine. So I'm taking this journey to lose weight and get healthy. I'm 64 years young, would like to look better, I know I can do this, if it takes longer than I want---so be it, will hang in there.I like the saying, age is just a number. I will try to remember that its what you do for your body that keeps one younger regardless of your age.
Lose 40 to 50 pounds
Enjoy life, not bemoan the fact I've made life
changes as its the best thing to do for myself
Work out at the gym--2 or 3 times a week doing both cardio and strength exercise
Do exercise at home
Use the nutrition and fitness trackers
My name is Francine, most people call me Fran. I have a twin sister Georgine, we were each named for one or our parents. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Married 41 years
2 grown children
My hobbies are sewing, knitting, crafting, reading and spending time on spark people( I lose time real quickly while sparking)
Love outdoors during spring, summer and early fall, however, I'm not fond of the winter months

Good Morning Fran and Thank-you for the Smoothie . Yes , this year has been a challenge but you know I love a good intrigue. I am gradually getting better as it takes about six months for the medication to work in the body . I am taking a brake from posting to read other peoples blog while I'm at moms in Florida . For the next two weeks I am getting my garden ready for the fall . When I return from Florida , I will be back at the Botanic Gardens for the Fall Festivities - New Pumpkin Carving Festival - will photo !
Fran you're awesome - Hugs Karen

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.
It will make or break a company...a church...a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes.

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.
The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.
I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.
I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.
If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; success is there for you!
