Early July '09 Camping Trip - This is where I'm getting back to.

Starting as nubs on the side of the cactus, these bloom 2-3 weeks later, for ONE day.

Starting over again. Unemployed and not even sure if I want to continue teaching at all.
While I sort it out, I'm going to take the opportunity to focus on my life: my family, my home, my health.
My cardio will include lots of hard work and farm style work. I have an acre and a half to tend. It's fire season so I need to keep things trimmed and clean.
Fire wood needs to be hauled up a hill. Retaining walls need to be put in. The lawn is at a 6% grade so I leave the rider mower to my husband (I tried. I freeze up.) but the rest is me. The pool needs constant tending.
The list goes on. May it be good for my health and morale.
Positive? I'm hoping to get a dog soon. It's been over a decade since I last had a furry companion (hubby has allergies). I'm thinking this will help my depressions and the general morale around here.

My Goals:
Color Run benefiting a local school in October.

Feel like whatever this "single mom during the week" situation asks of me, I can handle it!

Mental Health: Feel strong in my relationships and have more of them again.

My Program:
Consistent exercise and water.

Protein up. Salt down.

Fit regular strength exercise back into my life.

Make time to do things with the hubby when he's here that do not just involve property maintenance. Take him (and his beloved camera) hiking. Go mini-golphing as a family.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I went through all the different brands of yogurts when I did this the first time and have narrowed it down the the Stonyfield Farms brand vanilla yogurt for my meals. Oikos is a tasty brand too.

Thank you for the comments on my I'm so Afraid blog... I have lost track of so many of the fires, I didn't know you were so close to one.. Only 3% contained...it must be fairly new. The tankers fly very low over my house nearly every day out of McClellan (I am in Carmichael).. My niece and other family are in Clearlake Oaks, Lower Lake and Spring Valley. 50 miles is 50 miles, but still too close for comfort. God bless you... AND CONGRATULATIONS on a new job (?) emoticon Drink your water don't waste it.
