Retaking Me

Starting over again. Unemployed and not even sure if I want to continue teaching at all.
While I sort it out, I'm going to take the opportunity to focus on my life: my family, my home, my health.
My cardio will include lots of hard work and farm style work. I have an acre and a half to tend. It's Spring so everything is in super-growth mode. The fire inspector is due any time. Fire wood needs to be hauled up a hill. Retaining walls need to be put in. The rider mower is on the ...

The rider mower is on the fritz so the weedeaters, the push mower, the 11 year old and I will have to take the wild oats down to safe levels...
The list goes on. May it be good for my health and morale.

My Goals:
Color Run benefiting a local school in May.

Feel like whatever this "single mom during the week" situation asks of me, I can handle it!

Mental Health: Feel strong in my relationships and have more of them again.

My Program:
Consistent exercise and water.

Fiber up. Salt down.


Fit regular strength exercise back into my life.

Make time to do things with the hubby when he's here that do not just involve property maintenance. Take him (and his beloved camera) hiking. Go mini-golphing as a family.

5 Half Marathons complete.
1 Marathon complete.

Building lifelong habits still a work in progress.

Thanks for your advice! I will try to incorporate a new cardio element. Drinking lots of water has helped in the past. I should really work on that too. It's nice to know that other people understand this stagnant step of the journey. I added you as a friend. emoticon

Thank you for the art supplies -- my near-addiction!

I started another new 30-day project yesterday, and although I didn't finish the ICAD, I'm going to try harder to stick to this one. It involves making a 5"x 7" collage everyday (1st thing in the morning), using three images and a word or phrase, and trying to get it done in just 10-20 minutes. There are also other instructions to follow. The facilitator, Shelley Klammer, includes a lot of motivational tips and "art therapy," and checks in with you by email every two days. It's been really interesting, so far, and I've completed two collages.

Hope you and your daughter are still getting some of the cards done everyday!
